Mrs. Amanda Sells has been selected as November’s “Educator of the Month.”
Mrs. Amanda Sells is a special education teacher at Brookville Elementary. She has spent her entire teaching career at FCCSC, educating students at Mt. Carmel for 4 years and Brookville for 9. Amanda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State in 2009, her special education licensure from IU East in 2013, and will graduate in December with her Master’s in literacy from Ball State University.
Amanda was nominated for this honor by a parent. When asked why Mrs. Sells should be considered for this recognition, she responded, “She is amazing with my son who is autistic and he loves her.”
Outside of the classroom, Amanda loves watching her older son play hockey and playing outside with her younger son. She also finds enjoyment in going to concerts, traveling, and reading.
When asked what she loves most about her job, Mrs. Sells responded, “One of my favorite parts of my job is that I often get to work with students for multiple years in a row. I love to look back on the progress that they have made from the beginning and see how far they have come.”
