Lynn Edwards - November 2024 Support Staff of the Month
Superintendent, Mr. Dustin Gehring, is pleased to announce that Mrs. Lynn Edwards has been selected as November’s “Support Staff of the Month.”
Lynn is the Controlled Access/Attendance Clerk and Academic Team Coach at Franklin County Middle School. Mrs. Edwards has been a dedicated employee for 20 years- 18.5 as the Director of Transportation and 1.5 years in her current position.
Lynn was nominated for this honor by a staff member. When asked why Mrs. Edwards should be considered for this recognition, he responded, “Mrs. Edwards amazes me. Her job is to maintain a safe controlled entry in our building as well as making sure our daily attendance is accurate. I believe she does these two jobs extremely well. Mrs. Edwards also sponsors our Academic Team here at FCMS. But, my favorite reason for bragging on Mrs. Edwards is how much effort she puts into making our school a fun place for our students and staff. For example, she voluntarily has little contests for the entire student body. These contests seem to come around not just the holidays, but so many other occasions when our school is focused on making our community a better place. It might be trivia questions, or brain teaser challenges, and most recently a pumpkin decorating contest that quickly became popular. Not to mention, students who win these little contests receive a very gracious prize that anyone would love to have. I have seen how excited students get when they hear their name called as the winner of one of her contests! And of course, you can hear the loud cheers from the classroom full of students that possess the lucky winner. When our building has a spirit week where we dress up for different themes, Mrs. Edwards never misses the opportunity to join right in with students and staff and can be seen wearing an amazing costume herself. WOW! I could go on and on…For a person who is confined to a small little office, our Mrs. Edwards cannot be topped! She simply makes our school a more enjoyable place to be on a daily basis, and her kindness makes her a beautiful person. And of course…she is a huge Red’s fan like me!”
In her free time, Lynn enjoys reading, sewing, time with family, and watching the Red’s.
When asked what the best part of her job is, Mrs. Edwards responded, “I really enjoy connecting with students. I try to form positive relationships with students and I really enjoy getting to know and relate to each one as an individual. I just really love being around all of the kids!”
The purpose of the “Support Staff of the Month” program is to recognize outstanding Franklin County Community School Corporation Support Staff who demonstrate dedication to his/her job, school, students, and community.
