Mrs. Jenny Meier - April 2025 Educator of the Month

Superintendent, Mr. Dustin Gehring, is honored to announce that Mrs. Jenny Meier has been selected as April’s “Educator of the Month.” 

Mrs. Meier is a third grade teacher at Mt. Carmel Elementary School and has been educating our Vikings for the past 29 years. Jenny has a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a master’s from Indiana Wesleyan. Her dedication doesn’t stop there…She is also an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Franklin County Extension Board, the Franklin County Community Foundation, and the Franklin County College Success Coalition. 

Jenny was nominated for this honor by a student and parent. When asked why Mrs. Meier should be considered for this recognition, the student first responded, “I would like to nominate my teacher for Teacher of the Month. She is a great teacher. She encourages me to do my very best job. She has worked hard to make sure that I was prepared for the IREAD test. I hope that all of my future teachers care about me the way that she does.” The parent followed up by stating, “Mrs. Meier is a wonderful teacher. She does a great job communicating with me about the issues or concerns she may have with my son or just to let me know what a wonderful day he has had. She is one of the best, most patient teachers we have dealt with. She makes sure all of her students are able to comprehend what she is teaching. She goes above and beyond for all of her students. Jenny definitely deserves this award!” 

Jenny spends much of her “free time” with family and friends, but also loves watching sports, listening to music, working in the yard, reading, and taking walks…she really enjoys the outdoors in general! 

When asked what she loves most about her job, Mrs. Meier responded, “I am very grateful that I have spent my entire teaching career as an MCS and an FCCSC teacher! I have taught for a long time and I feel very lucky to honestly say that I still enjoy coming to work each and every day. The best part of my job is that I work daily with young kids who make life entertaining and enjoyable, and seeing their growth in learning firsthand makes my job very rewarding! Another part of my job that I love is when I see former students and they make a point to say hi and share a memory or recollection of something from my class…knowing that I had a small part in their educational journey makes it all worthwhile! I know education is ever-changing, and I am blessed to work with colleagues who make each day enjoyable regardless of what the day may bring. I am very honored to receive the award Educator of the Month!”
